Mendon Mountain Orchards is a family run motel and apple orchard. Dr. John Thomas was President of Rutgers University when he planted the orchard in the late 1920's. The orchard was his vacation destination and he chose the site for its panoramic sunset views. We are told that President Coolidge would stop here for refreshments on his way home to Plymouth, VT!

Since 1982 we have been caretakers of this beautiful "heirloom" orchard. In addition to being orchardists and innkeepers, we keep busy with our bakery, country store, and greenhouse, all on a spectacular 26 acres!

Our family is growing in generations and the orchard is where we gather. Some of us help out on a daily basis, while others visit from out of town as often as possible.
